Boundary-jumping creative force Damien McGeehan has been off on another musical journey and this time, the scenery is spectacular.
'Runnin’ on Bourbon' is the first single to be taken from Damien's forthcoming album Kin and serves as a perfect teaser ahead of the album’s release later this month. Watch the video, premiering exclusively on Hot Press and filmed and directed by Paul Casey from Cable Junction Studio, below.
The track was influenced by the music, characters and vibe of New Orleans’ Bourbon Street, and was composed in 2018 after the spent some time there. It beautifully reflects the vibrant atmosphere he immersed himself in that will be familiar to anyone who has savoured the same experience.
'Runnin’ on Bourbon' features a stellar line up of musicians (and bonhomie by the bucket-load) with contributions from Seán Óg Graham (guitar), Liam Bradley (drums/percussion), Conor McCreanor (bass), John McCullough (piano/ Hammond), Rory Hoffman (clarinet), James Simmons (trumpet) and Jeff Adams (trombone).

Renowned as one of Ireland's best fiddlers, Damien McGeehan first made his mark back in 2009 with the well-respected three-piece, Fidil. He then produced a masterful piece of work, entirely with his own hands, when he paid homage to The Tin Fiddle that had been such an important part of the old ceilidh scene in Ireland.
Kin is due for release in late September. Check out the video for 'Runnin' on Bourbon' below.
