The Lost Messiahs return with the alternative and folk single 'Brownsfield,' premiering on Hot Press before its April 7th drop.
Portlaoise indie rock band The Lost Messiahs have some new material, complete with a music video, ready for streaming on April 7th. A precursor to the alternative-indie band's third studio album Connected to the Real, the track 'Brownsfield' first premieres here on Hot Press.
With two critically acclaimed albums already under their belt, the 2019 Deconstruction of the Mind and the 2014 Soulstar, The Lost Messiahs are known for their spiritual connection and focus. 'Brownsfield' is a testament to that, a true alternative and folk masterpiece crafted with the band's classic immersive instrumentation and textured, musical scenery.
It's their first single since the 2022 release of 'Searching in Mirrors' and it's about a field of the same name from the band's guitarist and songwriter, Ollie's, childhood. The haunting vocals and resonating guitar riffs captivate the listener as they are taken back to the lively, extraordinary, and imaginary worlds so artfully crafted by juvenile minds.
Similarly, the video recalls that same reminiscing riptide of emotions found in the track's lyrics, adding a visual element to the band's recollection of the childhood-to-adulthood journey. An exploration escaping reality in more ways than one, subtle changes in both the enchanting single and the picturesque video carry the listener and viewer back and forth throughout time.

Made up of James O'Connor, covering vocals and acoustic guitar, Eamonn Duff on bass, Martha Cummins on drums, and Ollie Plunkett on electric guitar, they've played all over Ireland. In 2022, they performed at Electric Picnic, Crane Lane, and the Midlands Prison.
