Their take on the Christmas classic is Villagers' first new release since their 2021 album Fever Dreams.
Dublin-born indie folk band Villagers have put their own spin on the festive classic 'The Little Drummer Boy', with a cover that also features Irish musician Lisa Hannigan.
Bringing their signature sound to the track, frontman Conor O'Brien and Hannigan's voices blend together over a serene and atmospheric setting.
O'Brien says about his choice of song: “Since I was a little boy this song by Katherine Kennicott Davis has captured my imagination more than any other Christmas carol. Such a dream to perform it alongside the incomparable voice of Lisa Hannigan.”
This Christmas cover is Villagers’ newest music since their most recent album Fever Dreams, released in 2021. They've received their fair share of accolades: O'Brien received two Ivor Novello Awards, two Mercury Music Prize nominations and is a previous winner of the Choice Music Prize. Beyond that, they contributed heavily to the soundtrack for the series adaptation of Normal People, which was filmed around Trinity College in Dublin.

Villagers are also set to perform an open air summer show at Trinity College Dublin on Saturday 29th June 2024, their largest-ever headline show to date.
