‘Shame on the Devil’, the lead single off Staples’ first full-length album since 2022, arrives coupled with a new split-screen music video.
American rapper and singer Vince Staples has announced his latest album Dark Times, out Friday, May 24, with the release of lead single ‘Shame on the Devil’. His first full-length project since 2022’s Ramon Park Broke My Heart, the new record will mark Staples’ final album with Def Jam Records.
A teasing glimpse at the hard-hitting album to come, ‘Shame on the Devil’ arrives alongside a new split-screen music video that features a close up of Staples as he raps the song’s lyrics as well as a series of shadows cast on the corner of a room.
Since the release of his last project in 2022, the Long Beach rapper has been heard collaborating with Earl Sweatshirt and the Alchemist on 2023’s ‘The Caliphate’ as well as the Alchemist’s ‘Lonnie P’ later that year.
February saw the debut of Staples’ Netflix comedy The Vince Staples Show, a five-episode satire that shows a semi-fictionalized version of the raper as he navigates life alongside co-stars Vanessa Bell Calloway and Andrea Ellsworth.
