Plínio Fernandes has announced a series of Irish performances between April 5 and April 13.
The virtuoso guitarist's tour will feature shows in Kildare, Dublin, Galway, Clare, Wexford, and Waterford.
Known for his dynamic and expressive playing, Fernandes fuses classical guitar with Brazilian folk music, performing everything from Bach to Heitor Villa-Lobos.
The São Paulo-native's debut album, Saudade (2022), reached No. 1 on the Billboard Traditional Classical Albums Chart. His sophomore album, 2023's Bacheando, explored Bach's influence on Brazilian music.
Among Fernandes' frequent collaborators is cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, with whom he went on a five-date duo recital in the UK and Ireland in 2023 and 2024. The Brazilian guitarist has also performed with pianist Lang Lang.
His recent releases include a rendition of the Andante from Luise Adolpha Le Beau's Cello Sonata in D Major.
