The much-anticipated live stream will begin at 8pm on May 21.
After Colm Mac Con Iomaire's powerful performance last week, Other Voices has announced that the great Glen Hansard will play from the National Library of Ireland this Thursday, May 21.
The vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and occasional actor is the founder of The Frames – one of the most important and influential bands of the past 30 years or so – and folk rock duo The Swell Season. He exploded onto the global scene after his ballad 'Falling Slowly' won the Academy Award for Best Original Song with his 'Once' co-star Markéta Irglová. He has also released a number of solo albums, which have further cemented his reputation as one of the voices of a generation in Ireland – while also scaling the US charts successfully.
Hansard previously performed 'Grace Beneath the Pines' in 2012 and 'When I Paint My Masterpiece' in 2016 on Other Voices, so is no stranger to the live music series.
The stream will start on Thursday evening at 8pm on both YouTube and Facebook Live. The 'Courage' series has been a huge success, platforming Irish artists like Saint Sister, Denise Chaila and Lisa Hannigan during the quarantine period.
