Denise Chaila's performance will be streaming live on YouTube and Facebook tonight.
Other Voices have announced Limerick-based rapper and spoken word artist Denise Chaila as the latest act in their acclaimed 'Courage' series – with a performance in the National Gallery of Ireland streaming live tonight, May 14, at 8pm.
‘Courage’ has garnered a remarkable response since it kicked off in April, with over half a million viewers tuning in worldwide to date.
Following on from her work with Rusangano Family and Sim Simma Soundsystem, Denise Chaila had a breakthrough year with the release of her debut EP Dual Citizen and a stunning performance in St. Michael’s Church at Other Voices Ballina. She was also tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot for 2020' acts.
To date, the ‘Courage’ live-streamed performance have featured Ye Vagabonds, Sorcha Richardson, Caoimhín Ó’Raghallaigh, Rhiannon Giddens, Francesco Turrisi, Lisa Hannigan, and Iarla Ó Lionáird and Steve Cooney.
The performances are filmed in strictly controlled locations, with no live audience due to public health regulations. For the duration of the series, artists have asked viewers to donate what they can to a charity of their choice.
