The countdown to record store day 2019 has begun.
Once again, Golden Discs are pulling out all the stops for Record Store Day 2019, taking place Saturday 13th April. Across eighteen nationwide Golden Disc locations, the celebration will include in-store performances, exclusive competitions, and special offers. This is the twelfth annual Record Store Day (RSD), an event held around the world to promote the culture of independently owned record stores and the important role these stores play in their communities.
In the lead up to RSD, on Friday 12th April, Dingle natives Walking On Cars will be releasing their hotly anticipated new album Colours. Dublin fans will get to see the band launch their album on Friday 12th April at Golden Discs Dundrum at 6pm. Then on the following day 13th April, the band are holding an in-store RSD performance at The Vinyl Lounge in Golden Discs Cork at 2pm. Additionally, Golden Discs stores around Ireland are marking RSD with sales on vinyl in all stores and online beginning the week of April 8th. A wide range of limited edition and collectors vinyl will be released for RSD 2019 including Billy Joel Live at Carnegie Hall 1977, Bob Dylan Blood On The Tracks – Original New York Test Pressing, David Bowie Pin Ups, Gorillaz The Fall on green vinyl, Lost in Translation soundtrack on violet vinyl, and Fleetwood Mac Alternate on black vinyl.
