Clonakilty International Guitar Festival has announced that it will co-host the Folk Alliance International’s inaugural European event in West Cork later in September as as part of the festival's 13th edition.
The festival, which runs from September 19th to the 24th will hold two special FAI pilot events on the 19th and 20th. As part of this collaboration, Laura Cortese, Ye Vagabonds and Moxie will be performing at DeBarra’s Folk Club on the 19th, while Wallis Bird, Mick Flannery, Lisa O’Neill and John Smith will appear in DeBarras on the 20th.
The FAI will also be presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dónal Lunny, with previous recipients including Mavis Staples, Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger.
Also confirmed for the festival are Irish artists; Lankum, John Spillane, I Draw Slow, Mode Houlihan, John Blek and Sam Clague, and international artists; John Smith (UK), The Mae Trio (Aus) and Steve Poltz (US).
