Fitting a wealth of styles in one basket.
While the German minimal house sound is often cold and robotic, Cologne’s Ware label provides a warm, melodic deviation.
Set up by Mathias Schaffhauser in 1997, the label recently released albums by Schaffhauser and Decomposed Subsonic and is now tying all its diverse strands together on this, its second compilation to date.
Bringing together spaced out, hypnotic grooves from Markus Gunther, stripped down, jacking numbers by Midinovela, ‘Warenkorb’ also includes chilled, down tempo moments by Benjamin Brunn and Schaffhauser’s chart bound cover version of Icehouse’s classic 80s track, ‘Hey Little Girl’.
Fitting a wealth of styles in one basket, ‘Warenkorb’ is far removed from the seemingly endless stream of Cologne based click’n’hiss house.
