The new music video is available for streaming on YouTube.
The special new '2024 Ultimate Mix' of Band Aid's 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' has been released on YouTube with an all new video for the track that blends new and old footage of the songs recordings.
Director Oliver Murray – the mastermind behind the short film that accompanied The Beatles' 'last song', 'Now & Then' – created the new piece.
‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?' is the brainchild of Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, on three separate occasions, including Band Aid (1984), Band Aid 20 (2004), and Band Aid 30 (2014).
Producer Trevor Horn has taken these recordings and blended all the voices of those generations into a new track. Trevor Horn also included footage from the original video, as well as shots from each subsequent release, in the new rendition. Interestingly, the video features footage of Ed Sheeran, even though he publicly disapproved of the project.

Sheeran also shared a post by British-Ghanaian vocalist Fuse ODG, explaining he believes initiatives like Band Aid, “perpetuate damaging stereotypes that stifle Africa’s economic growth, tourism and investment, ultimately costing the continent trillions and destroying its dignity, pride and identity."
In addition to the new music video, Band Aid is releasing a short documentary on the making of Band Aid and the history of the project.
