Following a powerful set from Lethal Dialect last week, the series of streamed gigs from The Button Factory in Dublin continues tonight, with a performance from acclaimed duo Blackbird & Crow – kicking off at 8pm, and streaming exclusively on the Hot Press YouTube Channel.

Originally discovered by Clannad legend Moya Brennan, Donegal duo Blackbird & Crow, featuring Maighread Ní Ghrásta on vocals and Stephen Doohan on guitar, bouzouki, mandolin and stomp box, have established themselves as one of the most compelling forces in Irish music.

In 2020, the pair released their acclaimed second album Ailm – which garnered major attention overseas, rising rapidly through the European charts. The album, which followed their 2017 debut Shock Shatter Convince,  was produced by Tommy McLaughlin, lauded for his work Villagers, SOAK and Lisa O’Neill, and mastered by Brian Masterson, whose fingerprints can be found on records by The Chieftains, Van Morrison and Elvis Costello. Blackbird & Crow's latest single, 'Moon Rabbit', was released in September.
