The recent Hot Press interviewee described Thin Lizzy one of the "as all-time great guitar bands".
Lead guitarist for legendary rock band Foo Fighters Chris Shiflett has just released a cover of Thin Lizzy's 'Cowboy Song'.
The release is part of the musician's upcoming EP, set for release later this month.
Entitled Starry Nights & Campfire Lights, the record is billed for a March 15 and features Chris Shiflett performing a country cover of Thin Lizzy's 'Country Cowboy'.
Speaking on the cover the guitarist said: "I’ve always loved Thin Lizzy and thought Phil Lynott’s storytelling lyrics could easily translate to country music, none more so than Cowboy Song".

Shiflett is pleased with how the recording turned out saying: “Feels like we have a toe-tapper on our hands and I’m excited to work it into the set when we’re overseas.
"Lizzy is one of the all-time great guitar bands so it was fun trying to put my own spin on the guitar solos – I twanged some of it up, and straight copped bits and pieces too, kind of a homage.”
The musician is due to play a headliner at the Academy this month on March 20. Tickets are priced at €25 and are available for purchase here.
