The Northern Irish jazz and hip-hop artist has released the latest single from his MOBO-nominated third album Faces.
'Detour' is the fifth single from Faces, David Lyttle's most critically acclaimed offering which earned him nominations in the MOBO and Urban Music Awards. The new single features his sister Rhea, who is among an eclectic list of album collaborators that includes Talib Kweli, Duke Special and Joe Lovano, and the video, his third as director, is a retro-disco timewarp featuring a a pair of dancing senior citizens.
2016 was Lyttle's busiest touring year and this April he'll spend a month in the U.S. carrying out what he describes 'as a bizarre artist residency which will feature segments at Alcatraz, the Wild West and the peripheries of Area 51'. The ambitious project is part performance, part journalism, part artistic statement and is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland's most prestigious award. David will also travel to China in September for a residency arranged by the British Council and PRSF.
