Dublin's Casual Choir have shared a moving virtual rendition of U2's classic hit 'One', as part of their 'Sofa Sessions' series.
Before social distancing, Casual Choir met every fortnight for inclusive singing sessions. In the face of coronavirus fears, however, the unique choir came up with a creative new way to bring people together – inviting singers around the world to contribute to a virtual rendition of 'One'.
The response was phenomenal, with people from across Ireland, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, USA, New Zealand, UAE and Uruguay sending in their recording. Through the power of modern technology, Casual Choir edited the contributions into a stunning finished project – which has since been shared by U2 on Twitter.
The rendition was arranged by Casual Choir's MD Róisín Savage, who featured on the IFTA-winning documentary The High Hopes Choir. She also co-ordinated and a directed a choir of over 300 singers for Centenary and a choir of over 150 for Laochra in Croke Park.
