Elton John is referenced in the song by the K-Pop group.
Elton John posted two videos on social media where he danced and sang a snippet of BTS’ new single ‘Permission To Dance.’
The iconic pop star is also referenced in the song, which was co-written by Ed Sheeran. The 74-year old shared his rendition of the song after BTS’ leader RM posted a video of him lip-syncing the song and tagged Elton.

The legendary pianist responded with a ten-second video where he sang, “When the nights get colder / And the rhythms got you falling behind.” The video was uploaded to his Twitter account. “Thanks, BTS. Love to the ARMY,” he said at the end of the clip.

Elton John, whose real name is Reginald Kenneth Dwight, also uploaded a video of him dancing the seven-piece’s accompanying challenge for their new single.
‘Permission To Dance’ is the second English release of 2021 by BTS, who are also known as The Bangtan Boys. In an interview with NME, the group said they want to push boundaries with their future English releases. “Language doesn’t matter to us that much like [it did in] the past,” they said.
“You know, we want to transcend everything, even ourselves too. I guess that’s the power of music,” said RM. The Boyband leader also added that there are no “borders, boundaries or limits” when it comes to the group’s music.
The septet released their global hit 'Butter' earlier this year and recently made their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge debut. Their world renowned album Be was released in 2020.
