Blur, My Bloody Valentine & Joy Division are among those who listened and learned from the art punk legends
Directorial duo Graham Duff and Malcolm Boyle are going the crowd funding route to advance WIRE: PEOPLE IN A FILM, their documentary about the titular outfit who were part of the ’76 London punk uprising, but quickly carved out their own unique left-field niche.
Having already interviewed the current members and departed founder Bruce Gilbert, the duo are now raising money to fund the shooting of further chats with their celebrity admirers.
These will likely include Big Black, My Bloody Valentine, Blur, Henry Rollins, Savage, Parquet Courts, R.E.M., Joy Division and our very own Gavin Friday.
If you’ve ever experienced the visceral thrill of ‘1.2.X.U.’ you’ll want to chip in with a few quid.
With a joint C.V. that includes Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show, Ali G Before He Was Massif and Avalon – A Field In Glastonbury, we're certain that Duff and Boyle will do a bang up job.
