Watch the Dublin band’s performances below.
Post-punk band Fontaines D.C. appeared on Later … with Jools Holland on Saturday 22, and performed their new singles ‘Starburster’ and ‘Favourite’ off their upcoming album Romance.
The Dublin group opened their performance with ‘Starburster’, the new album's first single released in April, which Hot Press previously described as “a panic attack to punk propulsions”.
Later in the show, they played ‘Favourite’, which sees the Irish rockers take on a gentler, nostalgic sound. It has a "never-ending sound to it, a continuous cycle from euphoria to sadness, two worlds spinning forever," expressed vocalist Grian Chatten.
Also featured on the lineup was English singer Lucy Rose, Nigerian artist Tems, American blues and country singer Charley Crockett and singer Paris Paloma.

The performance marked the band's second time on the Jools Holland show, as they first appeared during lockdown in 2020, playing a version of 'Hero's Death' on Live at Home for Later …. with Jools Holland.
Chatten also appeared on the show last year, where he performed 'Fairlies' from his debut solo album Chaos For The Fly.
Romance – Fontaines D.C.'s first album with producer James Ford – is set to be released on August 23, via XL Recordings. It follows their 2022 LP Skinty Fia, which hit No.1 in both the UK and Ireland.
The band are also set to cap off this year with two headline shows at the 3Arena in Dublin on December 6 and 7 – following a busy run of dates crossing North America, Europe, and the UK. See their full list of live shows here.
