The Beatle inducted the iconic group into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Foo Fighters celebrated their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a performance featuring Paul McCartney.
McCartney inducted the American group into the Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility on Saturday night before joining them for a special performance. The band played ‘Best Of You,’ ‘My Hero’ and ‘Everlong’ before their acceptance speech and The Beatles’ bassist joined them on stage for a performance of ‘Get Back.’
The songwriter drew a comparison between himself and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl as he introduced the band:
“He’s just an ordinary, kind of goofy kid,” said Mccartney. “And same thing happens, he falls through the same hole, and he’s in rock & roll and it’s gonna be his life. It’s gonna take over everything. And nothing was ever the same again,” he added.

Grohl acknowledged the family and friends of the bands in his acceptance speech:
"I would like to say that the best thing about being here tonight is being surrounded by our family. And when I say that, I mean, if anybody knows how the Foo Fighters work, the people that we are with and we’ve worked with, it’s been 20, 25, 30 years and we stick together like a family."
"And I think that’s important because then you’re doing it together, not just because it’s work, but because you love each other," he added.
Grohl had already been inducted into the pantheon of rock legends as a member of Nirvana in 2014. It was a special occasion for Foo Fighters guitarist and industry legend Pat Smear who received his long overdue induction into the Rock Hall.
The 62-year old earned his spot in the hall as a member of Foo Fighters however the guitarist had already made a name for himself as a touring guitarist with Nirvana. The musician was also a founding member of punk band Germs.
