The first trailer for Spike Lee's new comedy film,Chi-raq was just released.
The film is set in the streets of Chicago, where crime is reportedly rampant. The feature is loosely based on the Greek comedy Lysistrata by Aristophanes, and illustrates the women in the film withholding sex from the men in order for them to put down their guns and stop with the violence.
The title itself is a reference to the mass casualty count that took place in Iraq during the war. The name of the movie has elicited controversy amongst Chicago officials, prompting them to attempt to take away any tax credits that the film might receive.
The film will be released by Amazon Studios and will star Samuel L Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, John Cusack, Nick Cannon, Angela Bassett and Wesley Snipes.
It will be released on Amazon Prime in 2016
