Electro four-piece Pecking Party have been around in several guises since roughly 2011, but it wasn’t until the arrival of vocalist Ciara Ryan two years later that the group really hit their stride.
Dublin-based electronic band Pecking Party have released their latest single ‘Descendant’, accompanied by a powerful sci-fi music video.
Directed by Richard Harvey (winner of First Cut Youth Film Festival Music Video competition), the visuals feature an atmospheric night-time forest scene, a mysterious being with an unknown agenda and a getaway driver - starring Sasha Krohn and the band.
Harnessing their own brand of raw electronic rock energy, Pecking Party cite groups such as Enter Shikari and Pendulum as big influences. Comprised of John Gilbride, Fiachra Kennedy, Ciara Ryan, Fiachra Dunn; the band released their debut EP back in 2017.
The fiery contemporary track blends swirling electronics with heavy, gritty rock and trip-hop to create a unique listening experience. The influence of futuristic synths and shadowy vocals create a type of sensory overload. Mixing a heavy soundscape with Ciara's angelic, soft vocal range; the band use contrast perfectly.

'Descendent' explores a frenzied fear of the future in many ways, capturing the outfit's hopes to make a bigger mark in 2021 with their otherworldly type of frenetic, conceptual music.
