Take a look at the video from Manchán Magan and Dusty The Kid below
Acclaimed Irish writer and documentary-maker Manchán Magan has shared a special cover of Belfast hip-hop group KNEECAP's 'C.E.A.R.T.A.' with Dusty The Kid.
The video for the cover was shot by Tom Callahan of Sensitive Visuals in Chicago, during Magan's Arán & Im tour of North America. As part of the tour, he celebrates the Irish language while baking sourdough bread for 70 minutes. Magan published the acclaimed book Thirty-Two Words for Field in 2020.
His cover of the KNEECAP track aims to raise funds for the a volunteer gym in the Aida Refugee Camp in Palestine, organised by Ainle Ó Cairealláin, the managing director of ACLAÍ, a personal training company in Cork. It's a project that KNEECAP are also closely involved with.
KNEECAP have released a string of singles over the last two years, including 'MAM', 'Guilty Conscience' and 'Thart agus Thart', and played a major headline show at 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin in November. They're also set to be the subject of an upcoming feature film from BAFTA Scotland-winning writer/director Rich Peppiatt – which was one of the winners of the 2021 Mother Tongues Awards.
