The Malahide native celebrates his return to live music with a recording from his Guinness Cork Jazz Festival performance on October 24.
James Vincent McMorrow surprised fans with a special recording of 'Poison to You' from his live performance at The Everyman Theatre in Cork.
"Something really special happened in this room, I hope you can feel it in the video," the Malahide native shared on his Instagram about the recording release.
The performance was part of the 43rd Cork Jazz Festival, the first large-scale festival to be allowed in Ireland in the 18 months since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer announced the show in early October with a walk down memory lane.
"In 2014 I did this show in Toronto at the Opera House, just me a piano and a drum machine," McMorrow wrote in the post's caption. "It'll go down as one of the most special nights I've ever played, just me and my songs and the audience.

"I only ever did the show once and I've always wanted to revisit the premise," he added. "So we're gonna do it again on the 24th October..."
Following the Cork Jazz Festival, McMorrow shared a heartwarming post, captioned, "Still floating after Cork on Sunday. Hadn't fully realised how much I missed this feeling. I sat in my house all week building this new show, and playing it was one of the more profound moments I've ever had on a stage.
"Thank you to the people of Cork for being incredible. There is no substitute for live music and there never will be."
James Vincent McMorrow recently released his 5th album, Grapefruit Season, which Hot Press writer Kate Brayden called "A raw and addictive collection, in which each track is a potential single, it is sure to multiply the singer’s ever-growing legion of fans. "
The singer will be headed to the 3Olympia Theatre on April 20th as part of his 2022 Headline UK and European Tour.
In September, McMorrow starred on the cover of Hot Press. In the cover interview, McMorrow discussed his latest album Grapefruit Season, signing to a major label, overcoming self-doubt, and more.
