JC Stewart – a name you'll likely be hearing much more over the next while – debuted a gripping performance on Other Voices Monday night.

Performing his latest single 'I Need You To Hate Me' in Ballina just a few short weeks before lockdown, the young singer-songwriter showed off his undeniable stage presence at St. Michael's Church.

The song is a new perspective on a breakup Stewart previously discussed in his previous single 'Have You Had Enough Wine'. “There was a moment where we were just going through the motions,” he recalls. “And I was like, ‘Instead of doing this, I’d rather that you hated me because there’d be something more to cling on to.’ The vibe was that we were really drifting apart.”
