As part of our nightly YouTube series celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, Joshua Burnside performs 'You Don't Pull No Punches, But You Don't Push The River', and shares his reflections on Van's music and influence.
Since experimental folk artist Joshua Burnside released his award-winning debut album Ephrata in 2017, he has used post-punk and electronic recording methods to push the boundaries of the genre. His highly anticipated sophomore album, Into The Depths Of Hell, is out on September 4.

"We’ve covered ‘You Don't Pull No Punches, But You Don't Push The River’. I love the tension in this tune, the way it rises and falls. It’s one I knew would be a lot of fun to play with a band, as there’s loads of room for improvising and messing about with dynamics."
