'Solar Power' marks the musician's first release since her landmark 2017 sophomore album 'Melodrama'.
Kiwi singer-songwriter Lorde has made her triumphant return after a four year hiatus with summery new single and accompanying video, 'Solar Power'.
The 24-year-old has also announced that her third album of the same name will land later this year - with fans speculating that the Summer Solstice date of June 21st is the most likely outcome.
In a newsletter to fans, Lorde said that it will be a “celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors.”
Accompanied by a music video featuring Lorde in a brilliant yellow outfit frolicking on a beach, the song is a perfect ode to what the singer describes as "that infectious, flirtatious summer energy that takes hold of us all". Expect to hear this track on everyone's 'Hot Girl Summer' playlists.
'Solar Power' also features backing vocals from none other than Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers, while Clairo's new Jack Antonoff-produced single 'Blouse' involves vocals from Lorde.
