The 22-year-old is an emerging artist to keep an eye on.
Dublin artist Lucy McWilliams has released a stunning music video for her recent single 'Bumblebees and Blue Skies'. The video acts as a cinematic gem to go along with the heartfelt single.
The song and video capture the feeling of isolation and heartbreak while still in a relationship.
"What I love about this video is that when the director, Emma heard the song, her idea of what she felt it meant was not the initial idea behind the track," McWilliams said of the clip. "She saw this push and pull between two people, surrounded by darkness but once you leave you feel you want it back. This brought the song into a different light and meaning for myself and I saw something in the track I didn't even realise. The sense of going back to something even when you know it's not good for you but you can't help it."
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter/producer is definitely one to watch. The Dubliner supported Arlo Parks at the O2 in 2021, and had a busy festival season in 2022 playing at The Great Escape, Oberkampf Festival, All Together Now Festival, Electric Picnic, and Ireland Music Week. McWilliams' last few singles have amassed over 13 million streams on Spotify alone.
