Margo Price and Swamp Dogg have joined forces to share a remotely-recorded cover of John Prine's 1971 classic 'Sam Stone', as part of the eTown Quarantine Sessions.
Both artists have been covering John Prine for years – with Swamp Dogg previously releasing a version of 'Sam Stone' on his 1972 album, Cuffed, Collared & Tagged. More recently, he duetted with Prine on 'Memories', from his 2020 album Sorry You Couldn't Make It.
Margo Price, meanwhile, teamed up with Prine in 2019, to record a new version of his song 'Unwed Fathers' – in protest against Alabama's restrictive abortion laws.
Prine died on April 7, 2020, from complications caused by Covid-19. Revisit our tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter here.
