Maria Kelly has shared the beautiful video for 'The Sum of the In-between', the title track from her upcoming debut album - which lands on Friday, October 15th via VETA Music.
The album’s title track, released earlier this month, has gained widespread airplay across the UK and Ireland on stations, joining previously-released album singles ‘Martha’, ‘eight hours’ and ‘good enough’.
Maria recorded the album during lockdown last year when she retreated to a small cottage, away from the city. She says that The Sum of the In-between "is an attempt to find the strength to confront the current version of myself at all costs.
Maria says of the video: “This album is about meeting yourself where you are, wherever you are, and it’s about giving yourself permission to be vulnerable in that space. I feel very vulnerable in front of a camera, and in the past, I’ve picked apart music videos because of how I looked, what I was wearing, how I moved my body. I wanted to flip the script for the title track - to give myself permission to be awkward, ugly, or weird without worrying about the consequences. To meet myself wherever I am, even if that’s floating in the ocean with a dress on."
On Friday 12th November, Maria will celebrate the release of The Sum of the In-between with a headline show at The Workman’s Club, Dublin, presented by Singular Artists.
Tickets are €15 (including booking fee), and are available from ticketmaster.ie.
