'Screaming Suicide' is another cut from their forthcoming album 72 Seasons. Metallica's 11th studio album of original material will arrive on April 14th via the band's own Blackened Recordings.
Metallica have shared another single from their forthcoming LP, 72 Seasons, titled 'Screaming Suicide'.
The band collaborated with 'Lux Æterna' director Tim Saccenti again for the video.
With 'Lux Æterna' and now 'Screaming Suicide,' James Hetfield’s lyrics, hooks, and new raspy vocal delivery are the stand out qualities from these new Metallica tracks.
Metallica shared a brief statement about the inspiration behind the song:
“Screaming Suicide” addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It's ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it's a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.

Metallica announced 72 Seasons, the follow-up to 2016’s Hardwired...to Self-Destruct, in November with 'Lux Æterna.'
The metal legends tour Europe and North America extensively throughout 2023 and 2024, beginning in Amsterdam at the end of April.
Much has happened to the band and its members over the last five years including Metallica seeing another pop-culture breakthrough in Stranger Things, Hetfield starting rehab again and more recently going through a divorce, not to mention Metallica’s massively successful Black Album reissue in 2021.
