Irish punk Molly Vulpyne continues her foray into solo artistry with her second single ‘Romantic’ – released just in time for Valentine’s Day.
An unconventional love song, the singer shared that she wanted to write a song "about love where I'm not angry, that was my goal.”
“Lyrically it started to veer off and sound almost dark, so I ran with it,” she added. “Around the time I was writing it, I got into tarot cards and learning to interpret their meaning, a lot of the inspiration came from that. I wanted the song to sound one way, but it took me down a different path."

The song features fellow feather-ruffler Meryl Streek, who provides drums on the track, with Tony Carberry laying down the bass.
“When I gave the song to Meryl Streek, I didn't like it anymore and I felt a complete mental block," Vulpyne noted. "But I love what he did with the percussion; it changed the overall feeling of the song and transformed it once again."
The release of 'Romantic' sets the stage for Molly Vulpyne's upcoming EP Amortise, slated for release on February 24, 2024. To celebrate the EP launch, she will host a special gig at Whelan's, featuring all-new original songs never played live before.
