The virtual at-home festival experience was broadcast over the weekend.
Farm Aid returned with a virtual concert for its 35th anniversary on Saturday – with an all-star line-up that included Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Black Pumas, Bonnie Raitt, Jack Johnson, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, Norah Jones and more. After streaming live over the weekend, the "at-home festival experience" is now available to view in its entirety.
Farm Aid was first held in Champaign, Illinois in 1985 – organised by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp as a benefit concert in aid of American family farmers. Over the last 35 years, Farm Aid has raised nearly $60 million to support programmes for farmers, expand the Good Food Movement, and promote food from family farms.
"This pandemic and so many other challenges have revealed how essential family farmers and ranchers are to the future of our planet," Willie Nelson said of this year's edition. "Farm Aid 2020 is going to give the whole country a chance to learn about the important work of farmers and how they’re contributing to our well-being, beyond bringing us good food."
