SNL's 50th anniversary special featured performances from Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, Paul Simon, Lil Wayne, and more.
Paul McCartney closed Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary show with a medley of songs from The Beatles' iconic Abbey Road.
Flowing effortlessly from 'Golden Slumber' into 'Carry That Weight' and closing with 'The End,' the occasion marked McCartney's fifth time performing on SNL, and his first since 2012.
The 50th anniversary special saw a range of musicians performing throughout. Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon opened the show with a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's 'Homeward Bound.' Later on, Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard paid tribute to the late Sinéad O'Connor with a cover of 'Nothing Compares 2 U'.
Lil Wayne took the stage as the second-to-last musician to perform. Backed by Questlove and the Roots, the rapper played a medley of his own hits, including 'Uproar', 'Lollipop', 'A Milli' and more.

Ahead of the 50th anniversary special, SNL also hosted a celebratory concert on February 14, which included David Byrne, Nirvana with Post Malone, Lady Gaga, T-Pain, the B-52s, Cher, and more.
The gig took place at New York City's Radio City Music Hall, featured a number of cameos and skits - such as Andy Samberg and Lady Gaga's joke performance of 'Shallows', followed by their duet of Lonely Island's 'Dick in a Box.'
Saturday Night Live was created by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol, and has been running since its debut show in 1975.
