Recent Hot Press cover stars Pillow Queens made their triumphant return to The Late Late Show With James Corden last night – performing their single 'Hearts & Minds' live in the show's Los Angeles studio.
The Dublin-based band – whose highly anticipated new album, Leave The Light On, is out on April 1 – previously made their US television debut on the hugely popular late-night talk show in January 2021.
Following the band's appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas this month, they're about to set off on their first headline tour of North America.
After self-releasing their 2020 debut album, In Waiting, Pillow Queens signed to Royal Mountain Records last year. Leave The Light On is set to be the first project they've released through the Canadian label – whose alumni include the likes of Alvvays, Mac DeMarco, U.S. Girls and Orville Peck.
In their recent Hot Press cover story interview, the band discussed the inspiration behind the upcoming record.
“We are at a particular stage in life, one in which you think you’re not going to feel emotions as much as you felt them when you were younger, but then you find that that’s not necessarily the case,” reflected singer/guitarist Pamela Connolly. “It was an active thing for us, to be a little bit more forthcoming with our emotions on this record. Because we had the time to feel them, articulate them, and explore them.”
