The American musician took a short break from his Australian tour to show his appreciation of Irish band Fontaines D.C.
Grammy-nominated DJ and musician Porter Robinson covered Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Favourite’ for Australian radio station triple j.
Robinson’s rendition of the song was recorded for the station's weekly Like A Version. Alongside the cover, he performed his own track 'Cheerleader.'
“‘Favourite’ was, no pun intended, one of my favourite songs of the last year,” said Robinson. “It was the song that made me a fan of Fontaines D.C. I just love it.”
“I love music that’s extremely catchy and extremely hooky,” he continued. “And I love the way that this song feels like it’s constantly tumbling forward.”

Robinson debuted in 2011 with his EP Spitfire at 18 years old, under Skrillex's record label OWSLA. He won Artist of the Year in 2015 at MTVU's Woodie Awards, and was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
‘Favourite’ featured on Fontaines D.C.’s fourth studio album Romance, released last year. The record received critical acclaim, hitting number two on the Irish charts. You can see Hot Press's review of the record here.
The cover comes as Fontaines D.C. prepare to embark on a tour of Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, starting next week.
