The track is the second single from the Monaghan-born, Dublin-based singer-songwriter's upcoming EP, Like it Is.
Rachel Mae Hannon has shared the new music video for her latest single, 'Closer.'
The track was originally released on July 23 as the second single from her forthcoming EP, Like it Is. Written during lockdown, the single is about the desire to be closer to the people in one's life but being unsure of their boundaries because of the pandemic.
'Closer' was written and recorded between Hannon's homes in Monaghan and Dublin. Cian Sweeney produced, mixed, and mastered the single, which also features David Joyce on guitar and Chris Walsh on bass.
The new music video for 'Closer' reflects the track's groovy, pop-soul feel. Its nostalgic elements seem to refer to a time before COVID.
Last month, Hot Press premiered Hannon's last single, 'Alright.' During lockdown, she performed as a part of the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series, which you can watch here.
