"This shows what can be achieved with a bit of wired energy, irrational confidence, and staying up past your bedtime.''
Dublin based duo Sisterix have a brand new song and video, called 'Asking for Trouble'. The video was shot entirely in the Dublin apartment the sisters share. Ironic, as the song itself is about reclaiming the nighttime in a society rife with a rape culture, where it is understood that if women are out alone past a certain time, they are "asking for trouble".
“It proved a mildly torturous challenge", says Ornait, "but along the way we discovered that limitations or restrictions can bring a new focus to a project, and give you clear boundaries within which to work. We obviously couldn’t leave the house, we were on our own, and we also had no budget”. Síomha and Ornait used old film lights and a green screen they had lying around to shoot the video, which was in turn edited by their friend Sophie Merry.
