Taylor Swift debuted her video for the single at last night's MTV VMAs.
In the video, directed by Joseph Kahn, Swift re-crafts herself yet again by mocking the evolution of her celebrity persona over the years.
We see a zombie-fied Taylor climb out the grave. We see her in a bedazzled bathtub with blood red lipstick, commanding an army of plastic women in bondage latex, and dancing with a group of men in "I heart TS" t shirts in a throwback to a shirt Tom Hiddleston was seen wearing when the pair dated.
The video ends with Swift atop a mountain of her former selves, including the geeky girl-next-door from her 'You Belong With Me' video. In a self-aware moment, a group of former Taylors quote her critics:
"Stop making that surprised face it's so annoying."
"You are so fake."
"There she goes playing the victim again."

Both the Right Said Fred-inspired track and the lyric video broke records for the number of first-day streams. On Spotify the single earned over 8 million plays in a 24-hour period, while the lyric video saw 19 million plays in the same span.
'Look What You Made Me Do' is the first single for Swift's new album Reputation, out November 10.
