Earlier this week, Two Door Cinema Club performed the title track of their new album, Gameshow on the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live. With strong strobe lights to match the track's unforgettable dance beat, the band made it clear that they were back in the game. It's been a long time coming, as this is the first album since 2012's Beacon. Frontman Alex Trimble promises that the new album will stand out among the rest of the pop scene, saying that this time the band is "not embracing the pop that’s going on now in a melodic or structural sense.” Trimble says that Gameshow instead draws inspiration from figures like the late Prince and Bowie, calling them "both total pioneers who straddled that line between out-there pop and avant garde craziness.”
Two Door Cinema Club are wrapping up their North American shows at the end of the year before coming to the U.K in early 2017. Full details for the tour, as well as their performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live can be found below.
