Check out the new video for 'Colours' from musicians Elma Orkestra and Ryan Vail's upcoming collaborative album 'Borders'.
Innovative artists Elma Orkestra and Ryan Vail have teamed up for an ambitious new project entitled Borders. Working in the realm of electronic and ambient music, both have been releasing music independently from either side of the border in Derry.
Now working together on this newest release, the two artists seek to embody a spirit of unity and collaboration. According to Vail, the lush and evocative instrumentation of the album is intended as a score for "the border between the North and South of Ireland". In live performances of the album, "the audience will see a visual journey across various parts of the border".
An encapsulation of this stated vision, the gorgeous new video for 'Colours' is a meditative journey through a divided world. The video follows the travels of a solitary skateboarder, featuring sweeping and beautiful natural settings. Legendary folk singer Moya Brennan lends vocals to the track, singing in both Gaelic and English.
Borders will be released on June 14 and is available for pre-order now.
