The folk-rock band will play Belfast's Ulster Hall on May 20.
The Waterboys are set to kick off the summer in Belfast, at the iconic Ulster Hall. Coming after the success of 2017's Out Of All This Blue, which peaked in the top ten of both the UK and Irish charts, the Belfast gig will see Mike Scott and the band continue to expand and develop their unique sound.
The show, which takes place on May 20, comes ahead of a string of UK and European dates, including a return to Irish shores for Galway's Fever Pitch Festival on June 1.
The Waterboys' latest album saw them staking out new, experimental territory, including the use of hip hop recording techniques. While the band enjoyed massive success in the past, with successful anthems such as 'The Whole of the Moon' and 'Fisherman's Blues', Scott is keen to continue pushing the boundaries of his sound. He revealed in the gig's press release: "I always wanted to be better than anyone else... Cohen and Dylan may be above me in the tower of song but from my own generation I'll take any of them on. Let them beat this."
Tickets for The Waterboys' Ulster Hall show go on sale on Thursday, February 21, at 9am. See ulsterhall.co.uk for more information.
