Following a string of well-received singles and an EP, Just For The Night, in 2021, singer-songwriter Mark Duggan has returned with 'Somewhere to Land' – a new single that explores the importance of community and companionship.
“It's about the pushing forward to something better," he says of the new release, which finds the central protagonist attempting to break out of a period of stagnation in their life.
Duggan's sound draws influence from some of his childhood favourites, having first fallen in love with music at nine years old, after being gifted an MP3 player loaded with songs by The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen.
As he grew up, he found himself drawn to the discographies of the legendary likes of Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, U2, Gorillaz, and The Waterboys, as well as the local acts in his native Waterford.

In recent years, he's continued to build up a reputation as a promising emerging force in Irish music – teaming up with multi-instrumentalist and producer Dunluvy to co-write, and playing guitar in the Dublin act's live band.
'Somewhere to Land' serves as further evidence of Duggan's position on the verge of a major breakthrough as solo act, as he continues to expand his pool of indie, rock and electronic influences, and carve out his own unique path on the homegrown scene.
