Across the three days and two stages there will be 23 bands, solo acts and DJs bringing the house down.
The long awaited We've Only Just Begun (WOJB) festival is coming up at Whelan's this weekend, August 5th-7th. The annual festival is back for its third year with an exciting local and female-dominated lineup.
When announcing the performers, WOJB teased: "Notice anything different about the line-up? Let us know #WhenYouSeeIt." Surely enough, the roster features predominantly non-binary and female artists/bands. The Irish Times said "for anyone interested in investigating exactly how the Irish music landscape is looking (and sounding), the event is a must."
Across the three days and two stages there will be 23 bands, solo acts and DJs bringing the house down. These acts include the likes of Sprints, Rosie Carney, Aímee, Elaine Mai, Shiv and more on the main stage. The second stage features some exciting up-and-comers, like Problem Patterns, Winnie Ama, Still Blue and more.
When the festival couldn't happen due to Covid-19, the organisers remained dedicated to promoting female and non-binary artists. They created a directory of over 600 artists in Ireland with profiles for each and on a comprehensive search engine.
Anticipation is high as the festival returns this year. Early-bird tickets sold out quick, and iconic Dublin venue Whelan's is expecting a packed house. Tickets are €15 per night or €25 for the full weekend. You can get tickets here.
