Catch them live on the Hot Press Instagram tonight.
To celebrate the start of the weekend, we're thrilled to announce The Wha as our latest act on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions – streaming live on the Hot Press Instagram tonight, April 24, at 7.30pm.
Kilkenny band The Wha are fast becoming one of the country's hottest indie-rock prospects – signing to the renowned independent Chess Club Records in the UK last year. Tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot For 2020' Irish acts, the band have kept busy with high profile support slots for Two Door Cinema Club, and the release of '40 Odd Years' and 'Innocents'.
Childhood friends Finn and Sam met in primary school, eventually forging a songwriting partnership aged just 15 years-old that would go on to form the nucleus of The Wha – pulling influence from the likes of The Beatles, Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, as well as Julian Casablancas, Alex Turner and Father John Misty.
For tonight's performance on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions, due to social distancing, Finn and Sam will be bringing us a special two-parter – performing separate sets from self-isolation.
Throughout the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions, our star-studded line-up will be taking over the Hot Press Instagram account (@hotpressmagazine), and live-streaming performances from their homes around the world directly to your phone.

We encourage everyone who enjoys The Wha's performance tonight to support them through this difficult time for musicians by buying their music.
