Stuart Clark sat down with the legendary singer in 1999...
To celebrate both David Bowie's 66th birthday, and his brand new track 'Where Are We Now?', we've had a rummage through the HP archives, and dug up a 1999 interview with the man himself.
Stuart Clark did the honours, with Bowie revealing the song he's most proud of – '"Warszawa' from Low, partly because it was the first instrumental I ever recorded"... what it's like to be a living legend - "As far as I'm concerned, David Bowie is the sum of however many people are thinking of me at any given time. The perception belongs to them. I have no control over it"... and where he's at with that ever elusive autobiography - "I've approached it on several occasions, but it just keeps turning into a piece of fiction, which is maybe the best way to do it!"
