Willie Nelson has released the second single from his new studio album.
‘Made in Texas’ is the second spotlight track from Willie Nelson’s upcoming album The Border.
The song was written by Shawn Camp and Monty Holmes and is being released as a way to celebrate Willie's 91st birthday as he was also born in Texas in 1933.
‘Made In Texas’ follows the release of the album’s first single ‘The Border’ which was released on March 14.
The album ‘Made In Texas’ comes from is now available to pre-order digitally on CD or on black vinyl. The Border will be Nelson’s 152 album and will consist of 10 new songs. Four of these tracks will be Nelson and Buddy Cannon compositions.
In this album Nelson continues his tradition of highlighting some of the best songwriters in country music by recording versions of compositions by Larry Cordle and Erin Enderlin’s ‘I Wrote This Song For You’ as well as ‘Many A Long And Lonesome Highway’ by Rodney Crowell and Will Jennings and ‘Nobody Knows Me Like You’ by Mike Reid.

The Border features Nelson on lead vocals accompanied by Mickey Raphael on the harmonica, Bobby Terry on the acoustic, electric and steel guitar, James Mitchell on the electric guitar, Jim “Moose” Brown on the Wurlitzer, B-3 organ, piano and synthesiser, Fred Eltringham on the drums and Barry Bales on the upright bass. Buddy and Melonie Cannon are also featured as the backing vocals on the album.
Nelson and his family will be on tour from June through September co-headlining the Outlaw Music Festival Tour 2024. The lineup includes Nelson, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, John Mellencamp, Billy Strings and more.
