Steve Cooney was the big winner on the night, taking home four awards.
The RTE Radio 1 Folk Awards returned for a third year last night – broadcast live from the RTE Radio studios, and hosted by co-presenters Ruth Smith and John Creedon.
The awards also featured a special message from the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, who congratulated all those who had been nominated for an award.
"Let us all acknowledge this evening, at what is a celebratory event, the importance of our music and our musicians, especially during this most difficult time," the President said.
