This year marks the 51st anniversary of the event.
The 2025 American Music Awards (AMA’s) were held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Monday.
Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the event recognises achievements in the music industry through a process of fan voting.
Billie Eilish earned Artist of the Year, winning over musicians like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and SZA. The singer also won in all nominated categories, including Song of the Year and Favourite Pop Song for ‘Birds of a Feather,’ Album of the Year and Favourite Pop Album for HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Favourite Touring Artist and Favourite Female Pop Artist.
"This is so crazy,” said Eilish in a video message shown at the event, while abroad on tour. “I feel speechless. I wish I could be there tonight."

Gracie Abrams also sent in a video message, accepting the New Artist of the Year award.
“I think the reason this means so much to me tonight is because I know this is a fan-voted award,” she said. “This belongs to the community of people that I have been lucky enough to learn from over the past through years of putting music out. They’ve just reminded me of the light that exists out there.”
Other winners include SZA for Female R&B Artist and R&B Song for 'Saturn,' which was co-written by Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, and Kendrick Lamar for Favourite Hip-Hop Song for 'Not Like Us.'
Janet Jackson earned the Icon Award.
"I don't consider myself an icon," she confessed. "The one thing that I hope for is that I'm an inspiration for others to follow their dreams and succeed."
At the beginning of the event, Lopez opened with a 23-song medley of nominated artists, including Eilish's ‘Birds of a Feather,’ Sabrina Carpenter's ‘Espresso’ and Beyonce's ‘Texas Hold 'Em.’
