Over the past five-or-so years, Beach House’s music videos have become increasingly at odds with their sleepyheaded sound; glossy accompaniments to ‘Lazuli’ and ‘Wishes’ would make a lot of sense paired with tracks by Daft Punk and Nicki Minaj respectively, but soundtracked by drooping lo-fi melodies, they make an altogether more striking impression. Directed by Eric Wareheim, one-half of comedy duo Tim And Eric, the latter is outrageous, showy and completely bizarre, in other words, a powerful antidote to the home video-style Beach House clips we might expect.
