Wookalily and The Riptide Movement's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebrations are going live tonight.
Following stunning performances on 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're bringing you more back-to-back performances – with Wookalily performing 'Wavelength', followed by The Riptide Movement performing 'Brown Eyed Girl'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country.
The five women and 10 instruments of Wookalily combine to create some of neo-folk’s most ambitious music. Their upcoming album Everything is Normal, the Belfast group’s follow-up to 2015’s All the Waiting While, is out in 2021.
Over the course of their remarkable career, The Riptide Movement have risen from buskers on Grafton Street to playing with the BBC Orchestra, Neil Young and The Rolling Stones. They've also built up a powerful live profile, with performances at Electric Picnic's Main Stage, Glastonbury and Benicàssim – as well as a headliner at Dublin's Olympia Theatre back in October. They released their new single 'Fall A Little More In Love' last month.
Wookalily's performance of 'Wavelength' (7pm Irish Standard Time) and The Riptide Movement's performance of 'Brown Eyed Girl' (8pm) premiere tonight, September 9, on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
